Energlaze Helps To Transform Tranquility House for Julian Benson CF Foundation
Tranquility House is located at 58 Grosvenor Road, Dublin 6. It has been transformed for the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for the Dermot Bannon show, Room to Improve. The episode is available on the RTÉ player.
Energlaze and Fineo by AGC are delighted to support the project by donating all the glass. The original timber sash window frames date back to approximately 1886 and have now been expertly restored by our partners, Timeless Sash Windows, so that they look like new again. But, crucially, thanks to Fineo ultra-thin vacuum double-glazing, they also provide modern warmth and comfort. The old and cold single glazing was replaced with Fineo vacuum glazing which provides a heat-retention similar to triple glazing.

About Fineo and Energlaze
Fineo is a new glass technology, vacuum glazing, designed and manufactured in Belgium by AGC. Energlaze are the official distributors of Fineo in Ireland and the UK. Fineo is ultra-thin at only 7.7mm. This means that inefficient single glazing in old timber or steel sash windows can be easily replaced with Fineo, while maintaining and restoring the original authentic frames. Fineo offers the warmth of triple glazing with a U-value of 0.7 W/m2k. Replacing the old glass in period buildings will make an instant impact to heat-retention and reduce your carbon footprint. And thanks to Fineo’s acoustic properties, external noise like traffic will be greatly reduced. Fineo is the only vacuum glazing made in Europe. It comes with CE marking and a market-leading 20-year warranty.
