Charge your electric vehicle with free solar energy
Solar PV panels generate free electricity that can be used during the day by all your household appliances. If you are not home during the day, you can add a battery to store all the solar energy generated for use when you get home. And you will also get paid for any excess energy that goes back to the grid, via the Microgeneration scheme (more on that below).
If you are home and you have a Zappi car charger set up and connected to your EV, then your Energlaze smart energy solar pv system will prioritise sending energy to charging your car. When you require more electricity than is generated by the panels, the excess power required will first be taken from your battery storage, then from the grid. Note: For safety reasons, your home will remain connected to the grid at all times.
Enjoy lower energy bills and a greener future
A Zappi electric car charger will allow you to save even more money when compared to petrol. And replacing fossil fuels with free, green, renewable solar energy will make a massive impact on the environment and the fight against climate change.
The Zappi EV charger connects intuitively with the myenergi app. Here you can to easily access features such as boosts and timers, to again make using your solar energy more convenient.
There is a €300 SEAI grant or home EV chargers. Read more about the EV charger grant here.
Microgeneration Scheme:
Get paid for excess solar energy that you don't use
The Government’s Microgeneration Support Scheme allows homeowners to get paid for the excess energy generated by their solar panels. The electricity that is generated from solar panels can be used throughout the day for running household appliances (washing machine, dishwasher etc.). If the system has a battery connected, the energy can be used to fill the battery for use later in the day, maximising consumption. But if the battery is full, and your appliances are not running, then the excess energy will go back to the grid. Your energy supplier will then credit your account at an set rate.
